Fresh Food Skin Transformation

Rosie | Dalmation

Rosie’s owners came to our clinic desperately seeking a solution. Her body was hot, her skin was red raw and itchy, her sunny personality was suffering. Various treatments but things were getting worse.

Hippocrates once said...Let food be thy medicine...

Our approach is simple. Fresh food, as close to its natural state as possible. Dogs are carnivores so let that be our guide. A balanced approach including meat, vegetables and seaweed meal had Rosie smiling in no time. Her brother suffered the same condition and was similar in his response.

They visit us regularly and relish there new cuisine and love to show off their silky soft coats!!

Paralysis Transformation

Romi | Dachshund

Romi joined our veterinary family as an adorable puppy in 2010. She enjoyed 5 carefree years until she was rushed to Adelaide with IVDD for spinal decompression surgery.

Although successful, she found herself back for a second surgery in 2017, returning to Mildura where her owners chose a personalised  holistic post operation rehab program.

Romi was an enthusiastic patient enjoying Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Chinese Herbs, Moxibustion, Treadmill and Swim programs.

Romi made a great recovery. She also mastered a wheely cart for longer journeys and enjoyed frolicking with her extended Dachy family! Tragically, Romi passed away in an unrelated incident and is fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Behaviour Transformation

Bindi | Whippet

Bindi came to us in 2008 as an 18-month old Whippet with extreme shyness in the show ring. Her owners had done everything to comfort and desensitize her.

We treated Bindi with Dry Needling, Acupuncture and Moxabustion at weekly intervals for three treatments.

The owners noticed an increase in confidence in Bindi's home environment after the first treatment and she became more outgoing.

The owner attended a large show of two thousand dogs after Bindi's third treatment. Bindi received 'Best In Group' and repeated this success with a Challenge Victory at a similar show shortly after.

We wish Bindi and her family continued happiness and confidence!

Paralysis Transformation

Kida | Beagle

Kida experienced a long and difficult labour in 2012 requiring a caesarean - ultimately resulting in 4 beautiful pups.

However, in 2014 she collapsed with paralysis due to a degenerated disc in her back. The pressure of the birth process 2 years earlier had probably put excessive strain on this region.

Kida became a 'live-in' patient and received Acupuncture, Moxa and Herbs every day.

Over the next 4 weeks, she also followed an intensive rehab program including gentle Balance Exercise and Hydrotherapy.

She gradually improved and was allowed home visits until she was strong enough to return to the farm at Rainbow.

Kida was again able to run happily, creating sunshine and mischief wherever she went!

Degenerative Disease Transformation

Buster | German Shepard

Buster first came to us in May 2016 after having been diagnosed with suspected Degenerative Myelopathy and an uncertain outlook for his future.

This is a common degenerative disease of the spinal cord, often seen in German Shepards. These dogs become very weak and specialised exercise programs to improve proprioceptive function are very important.

Buster received weekly treatment including Electro-Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Chinese Herbs and Chiropractic. Dynamic Balance exercises have been developed to improve strength and proprioception.

Buster also enjoys our Whole Foods Diet. Thanks to Buster's dedicated owners, Buster's outlook is always improving and age is just a number!

Paralysis Transformation

Dora | Dachshund

Dora, a young 3-year-old Dachshund, was exploring the garden at home in July 2015 when she suffered an acute disc prolapse. This left Dora a paraplegic with bladder and bowel issues.

She was rushed to Melbourne for spinal surgery and returned to us to begin immediate rehabilitation.

Dora's program included Electro-Acupuncture and Homeopathy; within 2 weeks she was swimming.

She was one of the first patients in Australia to utilise Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, here at our clinic.

She can now enjoy roaming in the garden once again, but will use a set of sports wheels when she competes in her speciality tracking events!

Paralysis Transformation

Tinkle | Dachshund

Tinkle lived the high life in Sydney. She suffered a disc prolapse when she was 6, but despite surgery, she was unable to walk and found herself surrendered to Rescue.

Luckily, Tinkle was re-homed in October 2012 with Tracey and became a 'live-in' patient.

By this time, Tinkle had been a paraplegic for over 6 months. She was living in a mobility cart and had extensive muscle wastage.

Her program included Electro-Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Moxabustion and Chinese Herbs. By February 2013, Tinkle was able to walk up to 100 meters at a time and became a champion swimmer.

Unfortunately at the end of June, Tinkle suffered a stroke and is no longer with us, but is running free in our hearts. She is buried in our memorial garden.
